Owing to the choice of your mode of transportation, you arrive either at the New Jalpaiguri Station or Bagdogra airport and are greeted and accompanied by the Swan Tours representative to the hotel at Darjeeling. En route, you will be amazed by the beauty of the peaks, the tea garden that carpets, the climate and also the greenery that is spellbound. Check-in the hotel and stay overnight!
After morning breakfast, move to the various sightseeing places awaiting you in the place where over 86 tea estates entice the tourists. The third highest peak, Kanchenjunga will be your first sightseeing spot, from where you will head to the mystic Ghoom Monastery (closed on Thursday) which reflects an image of Mythey Buddha, the Tibetan Refugee Centre, followed by Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, Tea Estate (from outside), Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda. Later, stay overnight in the hotel after dinner!
Have breakfast and check-out from the hotel at Darjeeling for you will be proceeding to Gangtok city. At Gangtok, you will be encompassed by the Flower Show, Do Drul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday), Cottage Industry (closed on Sunday) and Bakthang Falls awaiting you at the state capital of Sikkim. After sightseeing, you will be dropped to the hotel where you will stay overnight!
After being filled with breakfast, your day of sightseeing at Gangtok will begin with an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir which are known to be the top attractions at Sikkim. The origin of the word Tsomgo Lake hails from the Bhutia language where ‘Tso’ means Lake and ‘Mgo’ means Head, which is just 40 km from Gangtok. Baba Mandir, on the other hand, is dedicated to the shrine of Baba Harbhajan Singh who was a soldier of the Indian Army. After this wonderful sightseeing, you can get back to the hotel and stay overnight!
