It falls on Republic Day, so expect heavy security and diversions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">23 February 2028, Maha Shivratri, the big one at Trimbakeshwar<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">25 May to 2 June 2028, Ganga Dussehra, with 2 June as the main day<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela and the Akharas<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Akharas in Kumbh Mela<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are monastic orders of Hindu ascetics, each under a spiritual guru, each running to thousands of sadhus. When they move to the river, it is a full procession. Elephants, horses, chariots, sacred banners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They do not all camp in one place.
