  • Guwahati - Shillong (100 kms, 2 hrs drive)

    Meet upon arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station and transfer to Shillong.

    Shillong: It is said that the British were so moved by the magnificent beauty of this place that they set it as a Capital city of Eastern Bengal and Assam. There are lovely, beautiful lakes, and gushing waterfalls which makes this place special.

    En-route Shillong visit –

    Barapani (Umiam Lake): The biggest artificial lake Barapani is set amidst the hills of Meghalaya. This is also the first hydro electric project in the north-east. Various sports activities like kayaking, water cycling, scooting and boating takes place. You can also visit the adjacent Nehru Park, which provides a great view of the wide collection of orchids and butterflies.

    Arrive at Shillong and check-in hotel. Post lunch visit –

    Ward's Lake: Loclly non known as nan-Polok , this artificial horse-shoe shaped lake. It is surrounded by lush green enchanting varieties of colourful flowers and is beautiful.

    Botanical Garden: This lovely Botanical garden is a home to varied collection of indigenous and exotic plants.

  • Shillong - Cherrapunji - Shillong

    In the early morning after breakfast, enjoy a full day excursion to Cherrapunji.

    Cherrapunji: Also known as Sohra, Cherrapunji is the rain capital of the world. This is a magnificent place which is surrounded by cascading waterfalls, beautiful valleys and yet to be explored caves. In Cherrapunji, visit –

    Nohkalikai Falls: It is the tallest waterfall in India and fourth longest fall in the world with a height of about 1,100 feet.

    Mawsmai Cave: It is the only fully lighted cave of Meghalaya.

    Thangkharang Park: This beautiful park exhibits a magnificent view of the plains of Bangladesh on a clear day.

    Seven Sister Falls: this is the fourth highest waterfall in India flowin down at a height of 1,033 metres. It is also known as the Seven Sister Falls. In the late afternoon return to Shillong. Overnight: Stay in hotel.

    Butterfly Museum: This entomological museum is well-known for its only one of its kind and exclusive collection of butterflies and moths.

  • Shillong - Tezpur (251 kms, 6 hrs drive)

    In the morning after breakfast, transfer to Tezpur.

    Tezpur : Tezpur is also called as 'city of love'. This city holds in its heart many ancient historical events, and witnessed many legends and mythological wars of ancient Assam.

    Arrive at Tezpur and check-in hotel. Later, visit –

    Agnigarh: According to a legend this fort was built by Baan Raja to keep his daughter in isolation. 'Agni' meaning 'fire' and 'garh' meaning 'fort'.

    Mahavoirab Temple: Thousands of tourists gather here every year during Shivratri to offer prayers to this temple. Mahavoirab temple is the oldest Shiva shrine, where the second biggest Shiva linga of the world is worshipped.

  • Tezpur - Bomdila (162 kms, 5 & 1/2 hrs drive)

    After breakfast, take move to Bomdila. En-route visit –

    Tipi Orchid Sanctuary: Also known as Tipi Orchidarium, this sanctuary houses a large collection of about 234 varieties of colorful orchids.

    Naag Temple: Naag (Snake) temple in the region worships snakes. One can get a grand view of the Kameng River along with the lofty hills and picturesque valley from the temple atop.

    Arrive at Bomdila. Check-in hotel.

    Bomdila: In this marvelous countryside there are snow-covered mountains and lush green forests. Along with this there are numerous apple orchards and Buddhist Gompas. It is just the thing for trekking and hiking trails and a centre of local crafts and handloom products.

  • Bomdila - Tawang (180 kms, 6 hrs drive)

    In the early morning after breakfast, visit –

    Bomdila Monastery: Bomdila monastery is the reflection of Buddhist and Tibetan heritage and culture, it was established during 1965-66, by the 12th reincarnate of Tsona Gontse Rimpoche.

    Craft Center: Fine wooden carpets of colorful designs and masks are produced here.

    Later depart to Tawang. En-route visit –

    Jaswant Garh: Jaswant Garh is the memorial place built in honor of Mahaveer Chakra awardee (posthumously), Jaswant Singh Rawat. It speaks of the great spirit of this patriot who fought continuously for 72 hours (along with 2 other soldiers) killing 300 Chinese soldiers during 1962 Indo-China War.

    Sela Pass: This is called the entrance to the Tawang ValleY and this narrow pass stands at an altitude of 13,714 feet. Arrive at Tawang. Check-in hotel.

    Tawang: Tawang, the majestic homeland of the Monpas. It showcases a scenic view of snow-capped mountain ranges, silent and typical tribal villages and uneven hills.

  • Tawang

    In the morning after breakfast, take a full day excursion of Tawang visiting –

    Tawang Monastery: Tawang is the place for the second largest monastery in the world. This monastery is set amidst snow- capped mountains and lovely valleys.

    Urgelling Monastery: Here the footprints and fingerprints of the Dalai Lama, kept for visitors to seek blessings.

    Tawang War Memorial: A 40 feet multi-colored war memorial in stupa designare built in honour of martyrs who lost their lives in Indo- China War Memorial. It bears the names of 2420 warriors written in Gold on 32 black granite plaques.

    Anis Gompa (The Nunneries): The Nunneries are women monasteries, where the nuns adopt priesthood willingly without any compulsion. The oldest one of this is Anis Gompa.

    Craft Centre: Rich in unique crafts and handloom products, In Tawang Variety of craftsmanship is displayed in carpet weaving (woolen carpets), wood carving, handmade papermaking.

  • Tawang - Dirang (138 kms, 5 hrs drive)

    In the morning after breakfast, take transfer to Dirang. En-route visit –

    Lhou Village: Lhou village is an ancient 16th century Monpa village. Their economic base is agriculture.

    Rock Paintings: The rock paintings located near Jung includes rock carvings of Lord Buddha Shakyamuni, Avalokesteshuara and Guru Padmasambhava.

    Nuranang Waterfall: Take a good look at the amazing natural beauty of Nuranang waterfall, locally known as Phong Phongma waterfall.

    Later depart to Dirang.

    Dirang: It is the habitat of the Tribal Mahayana Monpas. The mild and soothing weather of Dirang with a pleasant wind blowing across the valley endows Dirang as a perfect hill station which serves as a site for adventure sports like trekking, nature walk, bird watching and sightseeing.

    Arrive at Dirang. Visit –

    Hot Water Spring: This is a famous picnic spot. These hot springs are designated to possess some special healing properties, which makes it quite an attraction even to the locals.

  • Bhalukpong (148 kms, 5 & 1/2 hrs drive)

    In the morning after breakfast, visit –

    Dirang Village (Basti): Locally known as Dirang basti, this is a beautiful village inhabited by Monpa tribal people. There are beautifully decorated Buddhist Gompas in the village reflects their religious enthusiasm.

    Dirang Dzong: Representation of the culture of Monpas, the Dirang Dzong Fort was built in 1831 A.D. It served as a centre of all administrative activities.

    Kalachakra Monastery: Kalachakra Monastery is a 500 years old Buddhist Gompa. It belongs to the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism.

    Later depart to Bhalukpong.

    Arrive at Bhalukpong. Check-in hotel.

    Bhalukpong: Bhalukpong is widely acclaimed to be a popular tourist spot for picnic lovers.
